i think it's only a try sailing,because the carrier have so many equipments to set,next,it will be equiped with that

sure, it has many functions considering, symbolic image of new China, and function as weapon

My choice will be number one. It's more likely a training vessel given that it was built some 20 years ago. Normally, the US and ships have a life span of 40-50 years. The Russian ships have a lower life cycle say 30 years. So there is not a lot of active service year remaining. IMHO, it's not worth equiped the ship with so many stuff. It does have some value in terms of training.

I think the gov's getting down to naval development now. maybe it's sign to show that offshore patrol is not enough right now.

PRC has its own benifits in the sea and also some threats from the ocean.

I think we are just learning how to construct and operate an aircraft carrier. Since WWII many nations had owned many kind of aircraft carrier, and tens of years later, we started.
The combat fleat will include all kinds of ships. We lack of crusiors and self-made aircraft.
